Pascal began cycling at the age of six. He had very early success on the track and road. In 2016, Pascal lined up numerous top results at international races.
As the top favorite at the German U23 championships, the 22-year-old from Kandel near Karlsruhe proved that he can deliver consistently, even under enormous pressure: he won the national jersey with authority.
When he arrived in the pro ranks, he immediately showed that he does not have to hide from the big names – including a fourth place finish at the European Championships in Denmark. In the following year Pascal was the most successful German professional cyclist with nine season victories – six of them in the World Tour.
The following year he won the German classic Eschborn-Frankfurt. At his Grand Tour debut, the Giro d’Italia, he won two stages and was the first German rider in the history of the race to win the points classification.
